Dr. Andrea Park is a facial plastic surgeon who cares for patients who have irregularities of the head or neck, whether these conditions are congenital, acquired or results of cancer treatment. Aiming to help her patients look and feel their best, she believes that trust, service and open communication are essential to a thriving patient-physician relationship.

Park has received numerous research awards and has published extensively on her work with nerve injury models and novel treatment options to prevent synkinesis, a condition involving involuntary movements that occurs after nerve injury. The American Laryngological Association recently honored her with a resident research award and invited her to speak at its annual national meeting on her innovative treatment option for a neurological voice disorder.

Park earned her medical degree at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She completed a residency in otolaryngology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she served as co-administrative chief resident and also completed a research fellowship funded by the National Institutes of Health. She completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where she trained with the cosmetic surgeons to the stars.

Park is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

    Dr. Park is exceptional in both her skill as a doctor and the care care of her patients. She always takes the time to listen and answer every question, not matter how trivial. UCSF is lucky to have such a wonderful doctor!!

    She seems knowledgeable and generally has a good manner, but she didn't discuss in advance what she was going to do before beginning to give injections, just started right in. We discussed Botox at the last appointment, but that was quite some time ago. I could have asked before she started giving injections, but everything was going so fast I just assumed she had reviewed notes from my physical therapist. In retrospect I really wish I had asked what she had in mind. She also didn't ask if I had any questions until after she was done with the injections. And then she didn't provide any instructions for follow-up care. I could have asked (since she prompted me by asking if I had any questions), but for whatever reason didn't think to, so I just looked it up online after I got home.

    Dr. Park is an exceptional provider and I am so grateful to her and her team for the amazing care they have provided to me. Dr. Park has a warm and supportive bedside manner, is engaged in discussing my care needs and making recommendations for further evaluation and treatment. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Park or recommend her more highly.

    The only serious error was that in the After Visit Summary and Notes, the doctor wrote that I reported constant, year-round allergic rhinitis and itchy eyes. That's not what I said. I said I experience seasonal allergic rhinitis and itchy eyes.

    My experiencing interfacing directly with Dr. Park has been great. The only aspect which I feel fell through in Facial Plastics was that I felt as if I requested more details on post op care months and weeks prior, and it was continuously shoved off as someone elses role' who would be giving me those instructions. This made it extremely hard for me to prepare for my surgery, and if I had not had loved ones being attentive to my care post operatively at home, I would be afraid for others going into surgery without much information on specific regimens post op.

    My primary cause for concern is the clinic's decision to stop processing authorizations for my treatment (masseter injections for bruxism/TMJ). I have not received clear instructions or advice on how to proceed to continue to receive care.

    My care provider did not spend adequate time with me. I have a lot of questions about my care and upcoming surgery, but my appointments feel very rushed and I did not have an oppurtunity to discuss my options thoroughly.
